Community Sewing

Need ideas?

Check out more project ideas from ASG.org and see what other chapters are doing with their local communities all over the country.

There are many ways that you can participate in charitable sewing projects. From making hats, mittens, and scarves for nearby grade schools to sewing quilts for hospitals and shelters. You can create as part of a Neighborhood Group project or make things on your own.

Giving back is a vital part of a full and rewarding life. Nothing is more fulfilling than using your skills and passion to contribute to the quality of life of others in need within your own community. Throughout the country, ASG has become synonymous with sewing acts of kindness

Here’s how to get involved:
  • Community sewing events are generally scheduled quarterly and coordinated by Neighborhood Groups. September is usually a busy month for these events as it is National Sewing Month.

  • Events are open to all who would like to attend; you do not have to be an ASG member to participate.

  • Be sure to download and fill out your Community Service Report so we can keep track of all the amazing work that is happening in our community.

  • Contact the Rosemary, our Community Sewing Coordinator at community_service@asg-mpls-stpaul.org to participate and learn about upcoming projects. Also check the website front page for the latest news on events coming up.
