2024 Style Show FASHION OLYMPICS

Let’s head to Paris and enjoy our ASG members finest creations!

Saturday, April 27, 2024

11:00 a.m-3:00 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE

The location for the Style Show has changed.
There is still time to sign-up.

It is the Nordic Center at Lake Elmo Park Reserve

1515 Keats Avenue North

Lake Elmo MN 55042

This location is a part of the Washington County Parks system.  WA county requires a vehicle fee of $7.00/day or $30.00 per year.  To minimize an extra cost to the attendees, we will be working with the parks system to allow attendees in and the park employee will ‘count cars’.  At the end of the day, the parks system would bill ASG for the number of cars entering the park for our event.  This fee would be a part of the style show expenses.  To keep this expense at a minimum,  we ask for MAXIMUM carpooling.  HOWEVER,  in case of a snafu, attendees should be prepared to pay the $7.00.

All deadlines for registration(s) remain the same.

Ticket prices will remain the same.

The show includes catered lunch, silent auction, President’s Challenge, and of course, the  Fashion Show. Questions or comments about the event can be sent to: fashionshow@asg mpls-stpaul.org. This is a fun time to share what you’ve been working on, an extension of the  “show and tell” that happens at most neighborhood groups. You can also invite others to  model items made for them. Any young people who make their own garment and model it will  be admitted free, so encourage any youth you know, both boys and girls, to come and model  their self-made creations. In order to register via PayPal, a fee must be charged. Youth models may request their $.01 fee be refunded at check-in at the show. This would be a great time to support and teach a new generation  about sewing. Of course, style isn’t just what you wear so we will have space for you to show  your accessories, home décor, quilted items, and other projects that don’t lend themselves  well to being carried on the runway. Show off your favorite creation and discover new ideas  for 2024.

Just a little food for thought, see the list of sports from the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France:

It can be high fashion, practical or a beauty made from a recycled rugby shirt! This  year’s President’s Challenge is on the garment entry form, it will not have a separate form.  Printable forms below.

Fashion Show Committee Volunteer Opportunities:

We are still looking for volunteers. It takes a village for a large event like this to run smoothly.  We need your help with the planning and/or on the day of the event. Help with Silent Auction,  Emcee, Registration, Photographer, Day of Show, and Displays. If you are willing to help in any  of these areas, please contact Shelly at: fashionshow@asg-mpls-stpaul.org or 580-819-0768.

Neighborhood Group Help

We would like to again ask all the Neighborhood Groups to consider submitting a group basket  to the Silent Auction. The response from these baskets is great and the donations support our  ASG activities. With a combined basket, everyone who wants to contribute can do so at their  own level, the basket ends up being more interesting due to combined ideas, and it is a way to  participate in the annual event even if you cannot attend. Remember, the baskets do not need  to be sewing related – think of what YOU would bid on and build on that idea. Theme  examples: wine, I’m a chocoholic, gardening, movie, coffee, games, date night, s’more, single  cocktail, self-care, junk foodie, holiday, and many others.

Don’t forget the men, they love a man’s basket etc. Ask all the places you patronize about a  donation for the silent auction. It does not need to be sewing related-it can be restaurants, nail salons, hair salons, etc.
